Aug 24 2015 Yelp 5 The owner and executive chef was absolutely amazing!!!! For starters.. My fiancé and I were in the parking lot very sceptic to walk in. We saw him getting out of his car and instantly he was so welcoming and looked like any other regular guy.    We walked in and sat at the bar which had a really nice selection the decor was classic Italian, very quant and homey. I told him we saw his place on yelp and they were rated 4 stars and he continued with how he has a favorite yelper( much brownie points in my book because he actually cares about how his brand is seen! Love it) The wait staff were all smiles and pleasant. The chef asked us what did we have a feel for, but we were in for a treat because he personally made our dishes and took total creative control AND added a COMPLEMENTARY appetizer (which was excellent may I add; caramelized onions, goat cheese, BACON!! And topped with Basil on a beautifully toasted crostini yummy  )  All in all we had an amazing experience at Elisa’s. And this a place I would love for people to try!

Jul 30 2015 Google 5 Was here with four other couples to celebrate my wife's birthday. Absolutely terrific. Service , food , drinks all five stars. My wife is a picky eater, they did not bat an eye , preparing her veal just the way she likes it. I had the Shrimp parm, which was one of the best I have had anywhere. Our guests had pasta, chicken and their beef special...all want to go back soon. All the appetizers were delicious , we especially loved their rice balls. Chef Paul and Rocco and the staff never missed a beat and were their to make sure all was perfect..down to the piece of cake, candle and Happy Birthday serenade! We highly recommend this wonderful local, family owned restaurant. You won't be disappointed!.

Jul 15 2015 Yelp 5 This place has real Italian food, friendly staff and plenty of specials. During the week pasta, shrimp or chicken night is a bargain with lots of menu choices. The regular menu has reasonable prices and daily specials. We eat there often, cater parties onsite or to-go, and just cannot say enough good things about the food: The pasta is always perfect, the meat is high quality and the menu has something for everyone. My favorite dishes are the rice balls, stuffed mushroom, fried zucchini, calamari oreganata, artichoke hearts special, veal Caselnova and the pasta with shrimp and baby scallops. The veal chop with cherry peppers and broccoli rab with sausage are equally amazing when available. As you can it’s hard to name a favorite dish, and I usually over-order because it’s all so good!!  We also spent New Years eve there and felt like we were home, too much food and lots of fun!!

Mar 24 2015 Yelp 1 Save your time and your money! If you consider this a "traditional Italian" or "authentic Italian" restaurant, then you must say the same about a can of spaghettiO’s. Went here with my gf and her family to meet them for the first time, and as soon as we walked out, her step dad says, "can we have a re-do because that was not what I remembered it to be?" He told her the next day how embarrassed he was after choosing to go there and not worth the amount of money he paid. Folks, it should be a give away if it’s half empty on a Saturday night!I am not a picky eater and by all means I rarely write negative reviews, but 5/6 people from the group did no enjoy their meals here that night so I was not the only one. At least it’s a running joke now with her step-dad and I, so for that, I award Elisa’s one star.

Jan 17 2015 Yelp 5 Friend told me his family has all their big celebrations at Elisa’s, so we came to eat last night before an Islander game at the Coliseum.  The homemade gnocchi was one of the best I’ve ever had. The team is very professional, they know everything about everything on the menu and offer side variations not on the menu.  Everything delicious, couldn’t  have been more impressed. I’ll be back.

Jan 15 2015 Yelp 4 I like this place. It’s a nice date night spot. It’s not the best Italian food you will ever eat, but the staff is very friendly, and the ambiance is nice.

Jan 7 2015 Yelp 4 Went there the Saturday night after new year’s. Got there about 6:30. Restaurant was pretty busy but we got seated right away. Had the eggplant parm, wife had the veal parm. Both portions were quite nice and tasted very good. Wife took half hers home. Bread was hot so plus one for that. Friends we were with also enjoyed their food but I don’t recall what they ordered. Would definitely go back.

Dec 24 2014 Yelp 5 Our go to for birthdays, anniversaries, or a good night out! The food is ALWAYS great, and during the week they have chicken and pasta nights with incredible deals. To have a wait during the week really says something about the food which is part of an ever-changing menu with new specials often by the chef-owner Paolo. Wait staff is attentive and I’ve never had a negative visit in about 30 nights out.

Nov 15 2014 Yelp 5 My wife and I just had dinner at Elisa’s and it was wonderful. Michael was my waiter and I have to say probably the best waiter I ever had. I started off with the calamari which was crispy and delicious and my wife had the zucchini appetizer and it too was amazing. For an entree I had the veal Casanova and it was cooked to perfection. My wife got the seafood combo and loved it. The price was very reasonable and they have a great wine selection. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Nov 15 2014 Yelp 1 I was looking forward to enjoying a nice Italian dinner at this place and dragged my family along but boy was that a mistake. They served cold bread, mediocre apps and bland entrees, the only decent item on the menu was the trafuro dessert, sadly even that wasn’t knock your boots off good. Would not recommend this place to anyone. I don’t know how people think this is a traditional Italian meal :(

Oct 25 2014 Yelp 3 This is a very popular Italian Restaurant for local families and the + 65 age group. I felt like I was in a nursing home when we wandered in for some Italian food.  Don’t misunderstand, everyone was kind and the food was Italian; but it starts and ends there. (think pizza parlour with white cloths on the tables). That being said, we ordered simple, basic dishes. We started with fried calamari - It wasn’t bad but it wasn’t great either. Then we had the chicken parmesan, and a pasta dish. Our meal was okay; but the sauces weren’t memorable. Elisa’s does not have a bar to speak of, a cocktail menu or even a wine menu. The wines they did have are the type that you would find with kangaroos or birds on them, (Italian, of course) at a ridicuous price. We had water. The owner made his rounds thru the restaurant and stopped at our table, which I thought was really nice. Note to self: do this when you get to work more often. All in all, it was Okay.

Oct 8 2014 Yelp 5 Ate at Elisa’s last night for my anniversary.  This place never disappoints.  Love the family atmosphere and their attention to every detail.  The owners are so thoughtful and caring and truly try to make your dining experience enjoyable.  The fact that the owners come out multiple times to check in while you are dining truly shows that they care. The food is always a fresh meal, as if you were eating in Italy.  Everything was very delicious.  Prices were very reasonable. Will definitely go again!

Oct 5 2014 Yelp 1 The food and the service is terrible!  I can’t believe anyone would give this place 2 stars.  The "marinara" sauce is pure tomato sauce out of a can!

Sep 8 2014 Yelp 3 Believe it or not, I actually came here for my bachelorette party. A party of three quiet girls, but that’s a story for another day. Since I came here about two months ago, I cannot recall the exact names of what I tried. Nonetheless, I do remember that we had drinks...the drinks I had were cocktails that weren’t by any means memorable.  Our appetizer was a pizza that we shared. It didn’t taste out if this world, but what I liked is that the owner/chef came to our table and asked what we thought. Maybe it was our waitress that spilled those beans or maybe it was my hot pink bachelorette banner I had my friends make me wear. I dunno, but I thought that was nice. We ordered one entree for there girls (one didn’t feel like eating at all, and the two girls left over were full enough just to share). The entrees are not cheap and the size of the salmon entree we had was actually quite disappointing since the price was high. I have to say that the salmon was yummi!!! It came on a beg of spinach that was ok, but the salmon was really good. The atmosphere is actually old world Italian restaurant. I would probably want them to renovate the space a bit. The majority of the clientele were in their 60s-80s and we younglings felt a bit out of place. I suppose that’s all, folks. :)

Sep 6 2014 Yelp 1 I have no idea how this place can have these kinds of positive reviews.  Went here on a Saturday night.  First, the service was pretty much as bad as it gets.  But I won’t even elaborate on that.  The food was literally worse than any Italian restaurant I’ve been to in my life, and I’ve been to many, including bad ones.  This was easily, and I mean easily the worst.  A dump pizzeria has a better sauce, a better cheese, and a better pasta than this place.  This place is melting cold cut mozzarella on top of their dishes and calling it mozzarella cheese.  The sauce was worse than water.  The portion size was absolutely tiny and the price was not even cheaper for these dirt quality ingredients they use.  This place is truly as bad as it gets, seriously.  Oh yeah, and it took literally 1 hour to get the food from the time we ordered.  The absolute PITS.

Aug 7 2014 Yelp 5 Food is amazing!! I mean really really delicious. Only thing we weren’t crazy about was the mozzarella sticks. Probably shouldn’t have ordered them from there anyway with all that tasty food. The waitress Diana was lovely!! We never had to ask for a thing- she is totally on point. Large portions of food. House salad dressing is to die for!!Monday night is shrimp night, Tuesday is pasta night. It’s a great place- highly recommend it.

Jul 1 2014 Yelp 5 This restaurant is incredible for Italian food , and the price is so reasonable it’s hard to go wrong , they do chicken night , pasta night all different types of food nights for a beak in the price. My family must throw at least one party a year hear , the place probably holds around 120 + for a Nice party. They do a fixed menu with appetizers salads and 5 choices of an entree , and the food is always on Point. I must have eaten here over 25 times , I have never had a bad experience ,on the contrary , I’ve always had an excellent experience ! this place deserves that extra star for quality and price. The owner is awesome , he really cares and they take reservations.

Apr 24 2014 Yelp 4 I had the gnocchi and it was excellent and it was fresh! The wait staff was extremely polite and attentive but not overbearing and who seemed to be the owner came over to check on how our meal went. The bread was warm which is a simple touch that’s not often seen. Surprisingly, it was not crowded.

Apr 6 2014 Yelp 3 Ate here for the first time and was not impressed. Had reservations and was passed up  for what seamed to be regulars. Had fruit de mare which was over cooked seafood was tough. Have to say my girl had the veal marsala which was good not first choice though wanted swordfish special but they ran out. Overall not impressed but will give a second chance. Staff and owner were friendly and attentive.

Mar 27 2014 Yelp 5 I pass this restaurant on my way to and from work everyday. We’ve been looking for a good Italian place to eat for what seems like forever as my husband is a very picky Brooklyn-Italian. We finally made a reservation based on the Yelp reviews. We have since been back twice. The food is amazing. Not only do the wait staff explain in detail the specials, they also tell you the price.... which not many places do anymore and you usually end up with a ’huge’ surprise at the end of dinner when you receive your check. The restaurant itself could do with a makeover but, it doesn’t matter what the place looks like because the food is amazing, and you feel like you’re home. On our first visit,  I had the scallop appetizer that that was seared (to perfection) and topped with roasted garlic mashed potatoes with a wasabi puree... Absolute heaven. The calamari was perfectly cooked too.We went back a second time without a reservation and were seated in less than 5 minutes and the place was packed. Veal chop with balsamic reduction and figs, shrimp parmigiana.... Don’t make me talk about the potato croquette either (do yourself a favour and just order it). The manager/owner was so attentive and polite, he found my husband the same wine that we had had on our previous visit. The chef asked how our meal was too, they care about the customer, almost treating you like family. It seems like restaurants these days forget about the things that are important. The food, and  the customer. Those things Elisa’s has not forgotten and this is why they have so many good reviews and so many loyal customers. I am a fan and we’ll be back, again and again.
