Feb 10 2019 Yelp 5 The kind of place where you’re welcomed like family when you walk in the door paired with an award winning chef that is creating special dishes on a daily basis that are out of this world. My husband and I have been coming here since we first started dating over 5 years ago, and I’ve been coming with my family long before that. Our favorite part is that we can come here and enjoy a beautiful Italian meal, sip on delicious wine, and finish with cannolis and cappuccinos, but we never feel rushed. It’s truly feels like home.

Jan 15 2019 Yelp 1 Not good with accommodating. Poor people skills, not willing to figure out solutions to problems. Pricing was different after we booked so we cancelled. I don’t recommend this place. Very sad because the food was good, but staff was not something I’d want to be around again.

Jan 13 2019 Yelp 5 HIGHLY RECOMMENDEDOn Wednesday, November 28th, I attended the same Chef’s Dinner described so eloquently by Laura. Elisa’s is on the south side of North Jerusalem Road. Find parking in the restaurant’s lot or on the adjoining dead end block. Chef Paolo is a star. His creative menu includes several of his own recipes plus a diverse, quirky and surprising variety of ever changing daily specials. Simply put, his cooking is the polar opposite of boring and cookie cutter.Off we go.......Our Red Lentil Soup starter opened the dinner perfectly. It arrived hot and subtly spiced. Yum. Crostini was crunchy and deliciously topped. Gnocchi Bolognese, created minutes before it arrived on our table, was strikingly fresh. The sauce that topped it was hearty, meaty and satisfying.Onward...the Veal Sorrentino was tender and tasty. The Caponata was to die for. The Potato Croquettes shot me into bliss. So creamy inside. The best I ever had. The Green Beans were cooked to a perfect al dente and enhanced by an ample amount of sliced garlic. Chef Paolo graciously offered us  Pork Tenderloin as a seventh course. It, too, was superb.Service was professional and attentive. Thank you Rob, Diana and the rest of the crew.BOTTOM LINE:Enjoying the Chef’s Dinner at Elisa’s Restaurant is the best $60.00 you will ever spend.

Dec 29 2018 Facebook 5 If you are looking for a great restaurant for a casual night out look no further than Elisa’s in Bellmore. The menu is diverse and they are willing to accommodate changes. The service is really outstanding. It is family owned and Chef Paolo will come out to make sure everything is perfect. Their Sunday Sauce is delicious, it will give your Grandma’s sauce a run for the money. They offer catering and are available for private parties too.

Dec 18 2018 Yelp 2 We love going to Elisa’s and we have been loyal customers there. We had a party planned there and we had the whole restaurant to ourselves being there was over 60 people. The food was great no complaints about the food but the service was not what we expected after eating there so many times we knew what kind of amazing service they gave but the party the service was just not there. My biggest problem is the fact that they wrote the name of the person who’s birthday it was WRONG on the cake. I personally made sure Multiple times that they had the correct name written down in prior months of planning. They didn’t do anything to change the name on the cake after their mistake and we barely got an apology after spending so much money for this party I was hoping to do a little bit more to rectify their mistake. Unfortunately due to the lack of good service we will no longer be loyal patrons

Dec 14 2018 Yelp 5 Elisa’s never disappoints. I came by recently with my mom and the chef is super accommodating. We wanted the dessert specialty - they made an unreal dessert that changes and it really is probably the best thing you have ever tasted! This time it was biscotti ice cream with biscotti liquor. Yum.I also had my baby shower here and all the guests loved the food and they even had a creative dish for the vegetarians that wasn’t your typical boring plate of veggies. Great place!

Nov 29 2018 Yelp 5 I was fortunate enough to experience Chef Paolo’s tasting for my first experience at this restaurant.  We were a table of 12 people, seated at a lovely part of the restaurant, and were promptly greeted with water and bread.  Beware of the homemade dipping oil! Not for the faint of heart!  As someone who adores spicy food, I took an ambitious bite of bread with a significant portion of the oil.  Huge mistake.  That oil schooled me on what spicy really is.  Nonetheless, it was delicious.Check Paolo came out and explained how the evening would work.  He asked about allergies and accomodations.  (I rolled my eyes--if you are going to have a chef’s tasting, just try what they bring you!  I have zero patience for people who need to modify every dish they order.  The chef prepares it that way for a reason.)  He did not write down any of the requests, yet remembered throughout the evening who needed what. Our first course was a red lentil soup.  It had a middle eastern flare to it, and was served at the perfect temperature with homemade croutons.  the second course was crostini, made from their homemade bread, topped with goat cheese, carmelized onions and crispy bites of bacon.  To die for!  The pasta course consisted of pasta "pillows" filled with three cheeses, served in a pear sauce.  It allowed for the perfect balance of sweet and savory.  Our waiter quickly offered and produce fresh-grated cheese to top it off.  Someone couldn’t eat the pasta entree, so the chef prepared gnocchi with their homemade bolognese.  Someone said, "wow, that sounds good."  Next thing we know, the chef brought out a platter of it for all to sample.  Our next three courses consisted of a rare type of fish topped with a delcious sauce and sauteed asparagus, the best veal sorrentino I’ve ever had (lightly floured eggplant, not crispy fried!), and a pork loin with topped with crispy onions.  Each fish and meat course was accompanied by a vegetable.  I am not a potato croquette lover, but the ones Chef Paolo makes could convert me.  The mashed potato inside had a perfect creamy consistency and the outside was coated with a crust like no other I’ve ever had.Our final tasting was dessert, which the chef said is part of their "zodiac" desserts.  Not sure what "sign" was represented, but we enjoyed a whipped up concoction of anasette liqueur and vanilla ice cream, topped with homemade biscotti, whipped cream, presented in a martini glass.  I cannot believe that in the 20 years this restaurant has been in business, I have never been here until this experience.  The family feel, the personal attention, the amazing value for the quality of food, it all blew me away.  Chef Paolo told us about culinary experiences he provides throughout the year.  Stop here for dinner.  Meet the chef.  Repeat.  And whatever you do, sign up for their emails. I cannot wait for my next food adventure here!

Nov 25 2018 Facebook 5 Had a wonderful time here with great friends. Everything was delicious. Fried calamari, zucchini fritti and beet salad appetizers were outstanding. Veal chop reminded us of the flintstones brontosaurus steak-it was huge and cooked to perfection! Lasagna was tasty as was the penne with scallops and chopped shrimp! Service was great and they didn’t rush us out! Will definitely come back for more!

Nov 19 2018 Yelp 4 Very good meal with good service.  We were a large party who went for an early meal.  Had a small family owned feel.  Good Italian fare.  Decent prices.  What more can I say besides it is worth a try.  Don’t let’s its outward appearance and location dissuade you.

Oct 8 2018 Yelp 3 Elisa’s Restaurant and Café. This place has been here forever, it seems, and for the most part, that’s a good thing. The crowd on a Friday night was familiar, and seemed to be mostly regulars from the neighborhood. Not what you’d call a "see and be seen" group, but that’s ok.Service is good; at least it was for us. A very pleasant young waitress took our orders, and immediately a basket of good crusty bread materialized on the table, along with some butter and a bottle of spicy, infused olive oil, which was nice...not too much heat, but enough to let you know it’s there. Now, the apps are numerous, and the calamari, prepared any number of ways, is touted as a specialty. It’s not. I’m sorry. This was rubbery, bland, the crispy crust falling off...not an auspicious way to start off. And the portion was small. $13 for an appetizer sized portion of not very good fried calamari seems excessive. I finished it off (of course) but won’t order that again. My wife’s baked clams were small too, but she said they were ok. I don’t like clams so I’m taking her word here.Entrées are reasonable. The Lamb shank I had was tasty enough, and I enjoyed it quite a bit, as well as the pasta side dish. My wife’s pizza was really quite good. Thin, crispy, with spinach and cheese, and just perfect.  I would order that again. In fact all the pizzas looked good. The basics of chicken and veal parm were really good and satisfying, too.My wife finished up with a VERY expensive cup of Italian coffee (I don’t care what you put in it, $10+ for a cuppa coffee with some Frangelico or Baily’s or whatever is ridiculous). The Glass of 2012 Port that I had was good though the pour was on the stingy side. $12 for that isn’t going to kill you, though.I know it seems like I’m not loving this place, and true, I’m not LOVING it...but I didn’t NOT like it, really. It’s just nothing out of the ordinary. The people there were apparently enjoying themselves though, and I did too. That lamb was good! Would I go back? Sure I guess so...they have some good specials, and the pizza is on point, and the food isn’t bad and the service is fine and ....you get the point. Why not?

Sep 23 2018 Yelp 5 After reading reviews I made a reservation for 12 for my father-in-law’s birthday dinner. I am so glad we found this gem of a restaurant. You get a true family feeling when you walk in the doors. Our waiter Rob was pleasant, knowledgeable and super accommodating to everyone in our party. He took initiative to make sure the kids were fed first... something that only a pro would understand. He made great recommendations with appetizers and main dishes and super friendly. The food was delicious to say the least. Would definitely recommend and we will be returning often! Go here.. we were all so happy.

Sep 3 2018 Yelp 1 Had a very disappointing experience on recent visit... Caesar salad served warm, wilted no dressing, pasta wasmushy, tasted like hot water. Prosciutto was questionable...server dropped off salad never offered fresh pepper and badly needed grated cheese,..they should be more aware of the food they are sending out...

Aug 29 2018 Yelp 3 The place was nice. Service wasn’t the best. They were friendly just not too attentive. The hot oil in the jar was awesome. And the fresh warm bread was a nice touch. Food was ok, nothing special though.
